The three pair habit: running a multipack without losing them all

We sell 10 of our 48 styles as multipacks, so we have a commercial interest in this argument. We also believe it, for a simple reason: the failure mode of sunglasses is not breakage. It is absence. The pair exists; it is just in the other bag.

First, what is in the box

Complete pairs in different colourways, not one frame with spare lenses. A three-pack is three separate sets of the same model, usually one conservative colour, one darker mirror or gradient, and one that took a risk. The exact set is pictured on each pair’s page here and listed again at our retail partner before you pay.

Rule one: pairs live in places, not with you

The whole system in one sentence. A pair carried is a pair lost eventually; a pair stationed in a car door is there next July. Assign each pair from the pack a post: the daily car, the bag you actually take out, the hook by the door. The pair on your face is a visitor from one of those posts and goes back at the end of the day.

Rule two: the sacrificial pair

One pair from every pack should be the one you are allowed to ruin. Beach, boat, kids reaching from the back seat. At our price the arithmetic works; that is the point of the price. People treat a single expensive pair carefully and end up not wearing it, which is the most expensive outcome of all.

Rule three: colourways are assignments

The mirror lens likes open light, so it goes to the car or the boat. The subtle colour goes to the bag that comes to lunch. The risk colour goes by the door, where taking it is a choice rather than a default. This sounds fussy written down and takes one minute in practice.

Rule four: when one dies, promote

Scratched lens or sat-on frame mid-season, the door pair moves up to the car and the gap sits by the door until the next pack. The system degrades politely instead of collapsing.

The multipacks our buyers rate highest right now:

Polarized or plain tint: which lens earns its keep → UV400 on the temple arm, in plain words → Which frame suits which face →
